International sporting events bring great value, such as nurturing children’s dreams and hopes and accelerating progress toward an inclusive society. In 2025, the World Athletics Championships and the Deaflympics will be held in Tokyo. In order to pave the way for Tokyo’s future with the power of sports, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has presented a vision for the city it aims to realize through both events and has formulated guidelines for how to achieve this. We will develop the legacy of the Tokyo 2020 Games and open up new fields.
This guideline summarizes the direction and main contents of the initiatives to be made in both events towards the goals of "Vision 2025" published in February 2023. This is a revised version of the "Vision 2025 Action Book" published in January 2024, which has enhanced and materialize the initiatives and legacy, and systematically summarized them.
