Two celebration marathon events, the "Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon 2022" and the "Thank you Tokyo! Festival and Ceremony" will be held on Sunday, October 16 2022.

Tokyo Legacy Half 2022

“Beginning of Another Story.”

The Tokyo Legacy Half Marathon 2022 will be held using the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics marathon course, so that the growing trend for sports and wellness thanks to the Tokyo 2020 Games can be passed on as a legacy for many years to come, as well as the memories of the excitement of those involved!

-Festival and Ceremony-

As the finale for the one year anniversary of the Olympic and Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020, “Thank you Tokyo! Festival and Ceremony” will be held at the Japan National Stadium.
This event celebrates the many achievements of athletes, pays tribute to all involved and shares the power of sport once again.

Festival

Date/Time: Sunday October 16, 2022, 9:00 to 16:00
Location: Outside the Japan National Stadium, etc.
Contents: Sports experience, interaction with athletes (commemorative photo, etc.), appearance by Tokyo 2020 Mascots Miraitowa and Someity, etc.
How to Participate: No application required / Free

Ceremony

Date/Time: Sunday October 16, 2022, 16:00 to 18:30
Location: Japan National Stadium
Contents: Competition demonstrations by Olympians, ceremony, etc.
How to Participate: Advance application or lottery / Free
